On December 17, 2017, the Founder, Melissa Grady-Lyde of Healing Wings Foundation lost her brother Lieutenant Ira Otis Grady, Jr (North Carolina State Highway Patrol) who passed away due to a cardiovascular condition known as Aortic Dissection (AD). He was the son of Retired Sergeant Major Ira Otis Grady (USMC), Sr. and Constance Grady. He graduated with the class of 1990 from White Oak High School in Jacksonville, NC. He also graduated from Fayetteville State University (class of 1994); where he met and later married the love of his life; Sheree Grady. Lt. Ira Otis Grady, Jr. was also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
In his honor, Healing Wings Foundation was created. Healing Wings Foundation is a "heart healthy" nonprofit organization/501 (c) focused on providing first-hand understanding of the overwhelming physical, mental, and financial stresses that affect those suffering with cardiovascular disease and their loved ones. We dedicate our lives to helping those who have been diagnosed with a cardiovascular disease through various stress management strategies: mental health classes, meditation class, low impact exercise, life coaching, and financial assistance.
God calls us to do thanks (to give Thanks away). This literally become thanks-living. Our lives will become the very blessings we have received.
Our mobile resource center is front line engagement to meet the community where they are at.
We are dedicated to:
